I'm not kainscalia@gmail.com Hi kainscalia@gmail.com, add a new post-event comment:

FRO member, Pablo Romero, is a citizen of Ecuador who is currently studying opera in the US. Unfortunately, Pablo's student visa is expiring and he's not yet eligible to apply for an O-type visa, which would allow him to stay in the US. The Ecuadorian government is no friend to capitalism and Pablo's best chance for success in both life and the theater is to stay in the US.

By performing in private concerts this summer, Pablo is hoping to raise funds, enroll in the fall semester and extend his student visa. Please come out, donate to the cause and enjoy a lively evening of fun and music!

Please RSVP with the number of guests in your party. Please bring a snack to share and BYOB. Donations accepted at the door and any amount is greatly appreciated!

Here are the directions to Doug and Hannah's home:

From Southbound I-25:Take Exit 173, Larkspur/Palmer Lake Exit. The ramp becomes Spruce Mountain Road (no stop). Go about one mile, into Larkspur. At the stop sign, turn right onto Perry Park Avenue. Go 4 miles (past Renaissance Festival grounds) until it dead ends into Perry Park Road, Route 105, and bear right at the Yield sign. Go one mile, then turn left onto Red Rock Drive, just past Sandstone Ranch sign. (landmarks: a small pond and signs for Perry Park Ranch, Country Club). Go up Red Rock Drive one mile (ignore street signs; they repeat themselves), until you are heading down hill, and then turn left on Cheyenne (if you reach an open field you have gone too far). At the next street, turn right onto Delaware. Ours is the third driveway on the left, 4922 Delaware. It is a shared driveway; we are the second house. There is parking on a circle in front of the house and near the garage, or on the street. The concert will be in Hannah's piano studio in the basement of their home.

Program Details:

Tenor Pablo Romero will perform a recital of classical selections of Italian Romanticism, Zarzuela, Spanish Classical Composers, American Classical Composers and selections from the Broadway stage including composers such as Sondheim, Kurt Weill, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Lerner & Loewe. He will be accompanied on the piano by Ms. Zoe Nishimuta.

During intermission and after the performance, we will be taking pre-orders for a CD of the performance, which will be recorded. Each CD will be signed and dedicated by the performer. The cost of the CD is $14. Cash is preferred.

Pablo's Bio:

Tenor Pablo Romero is originally from Ecuador, where he studied music at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. He continued his studies in art and music at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. Coming to Colorado to continue his vocal training, he is currently studying with Martile Rowland. Pablo made his US operatic debut with the Loveland Opera Theatre in The Gondoliers in the role of Marco Palmieri where he also performed as Tamino in The Magic Flute and Nemorino in L'Elisir D'Amore. He made his debut with the Opera Theatre of the Rockies in March as the Priest. He has been a featured guest soloist at Arias At Avo's by the opera Fort Collins Guild and has been a returning participant at the Colorado Vocal Arts Symposium, where he has performed the roles of Count Danilo (Merry Widow), Prunier (La Rondine), and Faust (Faust.)

I am sooo sorry. I didn't read the times and thought it was an evening event. I just now checked the time and my guest and I are not ready to leave since it is an almost two hour drive for us.
