Topic: Sales Tax - Everything you need to know in an hour!
Speaker: Monika Miles, CPA
Monika has provided such services as federal and state income/franchise tax compliance and consulting, sales/use tax consulting, audit support, and credits and incentives reviews. She has served clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, construction, utility, retail and financial institutions.
Monika has served as a speaker for various organizations, including local CPA groups, the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA), Lorman Group, and San Jose State University. Her professional affiliations include the AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, the National Association of Women Business Owners-Silicon Valley, and ASWA, where she has served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the Silicon Valley Chapter, and is currently serving on the ASWA National Board of Directors. She also contributes to state tax publications such as The Journal of Multistate Taxation and Incentives and has contributed to ASWA's The Edge magazine.
Monika graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a BBA in Accounting/Finance and has a Masters in Taxation from San Jose State University.

Cost: The cost is $35 for members and students and $45 for guests. Guests paid for by a member will be charged member rates. *** Credit card will be accepted at the registration desk!!
Reservations are requested by noon on Friday, June 19, 2009 by Socializr or on the chapter voice mail at 408-235-0828. Remember that Vegetarian meals must be reserved and will not be offered to walk-in attendees or any reservations made after noon Friday, June 19, 2009. While walk-ins are expected, the Teriyaki Steak may not be available to all walk-ins as the catering staff may not have enough of the menu selection on hand to accommodate a large number of walk-ins. In cases where the menu selection is not available, substitutions will be made by the catering staff.
