The occasion for our return to smarmy form, you ask? Well, it's just that time of year, I guess... hurricanes, elections, and oppressive August heat just brings out our best. And hey: it's the 3rd birthday for the 2nd Street District and we will be doubling-up the fun with an art opening with Darvin Jones(see pic. below). Hell, we'll triple the fun with DJ Chicken George. All on the same day! Damn!

I'm not sure if cheap beer adds to the fun, but we'll have it anyhow. (hmmm...Lone Star or Pabst? What a difficult decision; if you can't decide, mix half of each in a pint glass for a world-famous Tan and Tan.) And because it's a special birthday party, we will be serving all sorts of artificially-flavored corporate confections (Ho-Hos, Snowballs, Twinkies, Ding-Dongs, and maybe even some stuff from that cranky old bag Little Debbie).

Don't forget to bring a gift for the 2nd Street District. (on the list: some parking, christmas lights for the broken ones in the trees, sushi, and maybe some more parking. And a pony—the district really wants a pony.
