Our next Hoco BlogTale party should be a hoot. My co-host is Heather Kirk-Davidoff, who - along with her husband, twin boys and daughter - are relatively new transplants to Columbia. As the new pastor?/reverend? at the Kittamaqundi Community Church and the blogger behind Grounded and Rooted in Love, Rev Heather may have you thinking twice about one of the older institutions in Howard County.
Once a paid bar minister (yes, she got paid to hang out at local bars at Boston and engage in some fascinating conversations),she now is part and parcel of a new movement of emergent churches. Locally, she's an avid advocate/critic/discusser of the Choose Civility movement. (You've got to read her blog!) And has even attracted the attention of a Wall Street Journal reporter with her stance. She's a member of time banking, the first host of the "13ers on the ... " parties and an all-around community gal, doing things in her own style, with her own twist.
Personally, I was magnetized to Heather the day I met her. She my kind of peeps. If you have yet to meet her, or just want to come and hang with some of the local bloggers, please join us, Thursday, June 5th at the Pub Dog off Dobbin Road. Kids are most welcome and be included in our Living Locally parties.
Rock on.
