Cool Gear:

Late Arrival Option:

If you are not good at getting up early on a weekend, you can show up at 9:00 for the schmooze, and do your exercise after the socializing..

THIS EVENT IS FREE !!

Hang out for another 30-60 minutes to schmooze with like minded Innovation focused folks who enjoy starting the weekend with 60-90 minutes of exercise. Our target "Innovators": (Actually, some of us stick around past 11AM)

  • Technology Community
  • Life Sciences Community
  • Sports and Action Sports Community

Who is invited ???

  • Founders, CEOs, CFOs, CTOs & Presidents of Innovative San Diego companies from the above sectors - plus family
  • Select Angel & Venture Investors with demonstrated interests in the sectors listed above
  • All attendees require a personal invitation from Marco (Anyone can go to the park of course, but our "schmooze" will be roped off and private for our group only)
  • Spouses & Children are welcome (If they can stand all of the shop talk)
  • If you would like me to invite someone, please send me full contact information for that person
  • Please note that I am NOT inviting Service Providers to participate at this time, just entrepreneurs, founders & investors.

Staying Connected
  • Friend me on Facebook, then join the group "Bay Schmooze"
  • Send me a Linked-In Connection Request to marco@marcothompson.com

Goals:

  • Get 30 people to come participate the first time (despite rain, we had 80+ show up out of 150 confirmed at the first event, and we had over 100 at the second Bay Schmooze)
  • Get 50-100 people to do it regularly, quarterly, monthly or more often ?
  • Create an new & unique networking event for San Diego which results in high quality introductions and business development
  • Find a service provider to sponsor each event
  • Print t-shirts... yada yada

Exactly Where are we meeting ??

  • South Mission Beach - Bay Side Parking Lot
  • Get yourself to the beach in PB or Mission Beach.
  • Take the I5 to Pacific Beach
  • Exit I5 at Garnet and travel west to the ocean
  • Turn Left on Mission Boulevard just before running into the pier
  • Follow Mission Boulevard all the way south (past the roller coaster, all the way to the southern tip of South Mission Beach)
  • At the very end, when you get to the jetty, turn left.
  • The road may be labeled "North Jetty" (according to Google) or "San Diego Pl." (according to Yahoo)
  • Follow the road into the parking lot, and go to the end of the lot.
  • There is a large grassy area with picnic tables.
  • We will be set up somewhere in there.
  • Call me if you get lost - 619-518-three 001

Rain or Shine:

Rain will make rollerblading difficult, and will probably cut short the Schmooze portion, but we will be there Rain or Shine

Some Attendees of Past Events, Bay Schmooze I & II: (for confirmed attendees of Bay Schmooze III, look at the list on the right side of the invitation)

Clarification on Time, Distance & Speed:

  • There is NO TARGET END POINT or target distance. The route will support a short walk to the Catamaran and back, or a long blade.
  • Some of the attendees want to exercise for 45 or 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes. These people should arrive around 8:00 AM, so that they can RETURN to the SCHMOOZE at 9:00 AM.
  • 9:00 AM is the key time for the morning. Plan your route, and your "turn around time" so that you return to the SCHMOOZE around 9:00 AM.
  • With the variety of speeds within groups of bladers, bikers, walkers & runners, we do NOT expect the groups to stay together. You may choose to move in a pack, or proceed at your own pace, depending on who you want to exercise with.
