The Chicago screening of Nerdcore For Life is finally on. It is on like Donkey Kong and you are invited to be a witness to (nerd) history! And by “invited” I mean I’m telling you about it and hoping you’ll show up and pay the $8.00 cover charge so I don’t lose too much money on the cost of the venue rental!

TICKETS: $8.00, AGES 18 and up only!
BAR and RESTURANT will be OPEN and serving during the event!

The screening is being held at Reggie's Music Joint in the South Loop. For those in the know, yes, it is the smaller venue attached to Reggie's Rock Club. "The Joint" seats 120 but can fit up to 200 so if you want to be assured of a seat, get there early. The movie will be projected on to the club’s (relatively) big screen and also will be running on all of their plasma screens. We are renting out the whole place so everyone in the club will be there to see the film. The Bar and Restaurant in the Joint will be open and serving food and alcohol all night and trust me, the best way to watch the documentary is drunk out of your mind. Despite the selling and drinking of booze, the event is open to anyone aged 18+. Oh, and no…you do not have to miss the BEARS game to go to the screening. The Bears play at noon on Sunday, October 5th.

The Joint has its own stage and immediately after the film is over, Nerdcore superstars THE FORMER FAT BOYS (one of my personal favorite nerdcore acts BTW) will tear the club to shreds with a performance that will surely go down in South Loop History.

The venue is very, very easy to get to. If you’re driving from the south, just take I-94 to the 22nd St/chinatown exit. Turn right on Cermak, then left on State and the club is right there. You should be able to find meter parking on state or wabash. If you’re taking the train, the club is only about a block from the Cermak Red-Line Stop. Some of you might have heard that the corner of State and Cermak is just a little bit of a sketchy area but things are mellow over there on sundays. Plus the club is like a block from a bunch of new, high-end condos so it ain’t that bad.

-SCREENING BEGINS EXACTLY at 5:30PM.
-LIVE PERFORANCES Start right after the film at 7:00PM.
-SHOW'S OVER BY 8 or 8:30PM
