I'm having a pysanky party! Pysanky are easter eggs decorated in the Ukrainian style, made with beeswax and very bright dyes, much like batik. They aren't that hard and always turn out gorgeous!
I'm making up a big set of dyes and hosting a dye-your-own party at my house. I'll have eggs, all the supplies, and snacks. No need to bring anything, unless you want a particular food or drink item.
We'll start at 2pm, but I'm going to keep rolling until about 9, so you can come later if you like. I would allow 2 hours to make sure you have time to finish an egg. Some people are faster than others, but count on it taking awhile. Also, be sure to wear either all black, or something you really don't care about - these dyes are permanent!
Please RSVP - I want to make sure I have enough eggs. I've only invited people specifically that I think might have an interest, but if you know me or someone else who is coming, or want to bring a friend who likes messy crafts, just let me know.
For the kids, I'll have some regular PAAS egg dyes and crayons.
