The event itself was good and I believe kids enjoyed it which I think is the most important thing. Also this was our first time visiting Oglesby Union. I think it will be a good idea to record correct driving directions from Tennesse street and parking location(parking garage behind FSU book store), for future events that will be held in this location. When we tried to find this location from socializr invite it directed to an incorrect location on Jefferson street. Also since Oglesby union is a good location where there are high chances of FSU students and other local populace attending indian cultural events at this location, it might be a good idea to brief what future events hold and timing and location of such events for the benefit of non indian community.Hopefully this is one way to make local people more acquainted with other cultures and richness in them.

The India Association of Tallahassee (IATLH) and Indian Students Association of Tallahassee (INSAT) are pleased to announce that India Day/Utsav 2010 will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Moore Auditorium and the quadrangle in front of the Moore Auditorium. The event is to celebrate the India's Independence day as well as to showcase the cultural talents of members. In addition, this year we are having a fair with stalls with ethnic food, culture, and traditions of India. We look forward to your participation to make it a joyous event. More information about fair and vendors will be available soon.

Please let Neeta Singh Choudhary, IATLH General Secretary (GenSecretary.iatlh@gmail.com) know if you would like to organize and coordinate a performance (dance, music, skit, costume show, poetry recital etc.) by Friday, July 9th, 2010. Please make sure that your performance is not film based (non-Bollywood type, only please) and keep the performance to 5-6 minutes.


In order to make sure that there is maximum participation from the community we would appreciate it if you could limit participation to two events.

Note: Only members who have paid their dues for 2010 and their families will be allowed to participate in the events. New membership and renewal information is available at: www.iatlh.org/member/membership.html

  • The admission to the cultural event is free and it is open to public
  • Everyone is invited to attend the program, so please spread the word
  • Only participation in cultural program is restricted to members and their families
  • Deadline for event submission: Friday, July 9, 2010
  • Please limit participation to two events
  • Deadline for final line-up of participants: Friday, July 23, 2010
  • Executive Committee's decision is final in line-up
  • Cultural event timing: 2:00 to 5:15 PM with 1 hour intermission
