Eugene Schultz is a recognized expert in network security. Dr. Schultz is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He has extensive experience in UNIX, LAN, and database security, and consults for both private industry and the U.S. government. He has provided expert testimony before committees within the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives on various security-related issues, and served as an expert witness in legal cases. Eugene Schultz testified before the U.S. Senate about intrusions into U.S. military computers during Operation Desert Storm, and he subsequently wrote a highly regarded analysis of this topic.
Dr. Schultz founded and managed the Department of Energy's Computer Incident Advisory Capability (CIAC), a team dedicated to responding to incidents at all Department of Energy sites. While at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Dr. Eugene Schultz was a co-founder of FIRST, the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams.
Eugene Schultz has been an adjunct professor of computer science at Purdue University, where he taught courses and participated in research in the CERIAS (Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security) program. He also teaches computer science courses at the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Schultz is the author/co-author of three books, one on UNIX security, another on Internet security, and a third on Windows NT/2000 security, and he is the author of over 100 published papers.
Dr. Eugene Schultz is the editor-in-chief of Computers and Security and is an associate editor of Network Security and Information Security Bulletin. He is a member of the editorial board for the SANS NewsBites, a weekly information security-related news update. He is also on the technical advisory board of three companies.
Eugene Schultz is the recipient of the ISACA John Kuyers Best Speaker/Best Conference Contributor Award, and the National Information Systems Security Conference Best Paper Award. He is the recipient of the NASA Technical Excellence Award, the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Professional Achievement and Honor Roll Awards, and has been elected to the ISSA Hall of Fame.

Please remember that Vegetarian meals must be reserved and will not be offered to walk-in attendees or any reservations made after noon Monday, February 22, 2010. While walk-ins are expected, the Beef Stir-Fry may not be available to all walk-ins as the catering staff may not have enough of the menu selection on hand to accommodate a large number of walk-ins. In cases where the menu selection is not available, substitutions will be made by the catering staff.
