Join us at a memorial run to raise money for teachers in Africa and in honor of the memory of my oldest sister, Tracey Lurie-Sklar.
DETAILS
o When: Sunday, June 28, 2009. Run starts at 11am. Registration starts at 10am.
o What: 3.5 run or walk on Crissy Field. Out and back so you can run less if you want.
o Where: The parking lot at the St. Francis Yacht Club, 700 Marina Boulevard in the Marina in San Francisco.
o Why: Raise money for Teach with Africa in honor of Tracey Lurie-Sklar (1962-2008)

THE CAUSE
Teach with Africa is a San Francisco-based non-profit that works to break down the economic and social barriers to education in Africa by sending teams of educators to implement projects in underserved communities through an exchange of teaching and learning.
IN HONOR OF TRACEY LURIE-SKLAR
Tracey Lurie-Sklar was a teacher, mother, daughter, sister and community leader. Born in Africa on June 13, 1962, Tracey passed away on November 6, 2008. The run is in honor of her work with students both in the US and abroad and her spirit.
THE COURSE
The run is a 3.5 mile out-and-back course from the parking lot of the St. Francis Yacht Club along Crissy Field to the turnaround point at Fort Point. People can run or walk and are not required to go the full distance.
