General & Membership Information
India Association of Tallahassee (www.iatlh.org) announces that its premier event Cultural Glimpses of India 2011 will be held on Saturday, November 05, 2011 between 4:30 and 8:00 PM at Lawton Chiles High School Auditorium. As in prior years participation in the items is restricted to members and their families only. Item Registration for Coordinators & Participants
In order to streamline and avoid complications we have created electronic registration for item coordinators and item participants (two separate links). The registration of items will begin on Tuesday, September 06, 2011. The registration will be closed on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 (Please note that due to time restriction on the event we may close the registration earlier than this date. So register at the earliest). The deadline for participant registration is Friday, October 14, 2011.

Please note that we will not entertain item submission or participant submission in any other way (no phone, e-mail, personal communications, please). In the form, fields marked with red asterisks are required and please remember to register before the deadline date.
Due to popularity and time restriction of the event, the registration process may be closed even before the reach of the deadline date. So register at your earliest and don't wait till last minute. Decision to close the registration prior to deadline will be taken by EC depending upon the number of items received. EC may not have sufficient time to inform everyone about the closing of registration. So we encourage everyone to register at the earliest convenience.
Rules and Guidelines for Coordinators and participants
1. Items submitted (play, song, dance, etc) should not be more than 6-7 minutes long including set up times, etc.
2. No duplicate items will be accepted. Item submitted earlier (as determined by time stamp) has precedence over item submitted later. In order for us to identify duplicate item, please clearly state name of the song, film (source), language, etc.
3. Once an item is submitted the coordinator can't change the item without contacting EC. Changing an item may also result in the loss of priority in order of submission.
4. In order to encourage participation, solo items will not be accepted. We require items to have a minimum of four (4) participants.
5. In order to encourage wider participation by coordinators we are initially limiting five (5) items per coordinator by the deadline date. If we don't receive enought entries after the deadline, we will reopen the registration so that more items can be submmitted by same coordinators.
6. To avoid duplication, once an item is submitted we will publish the name of the coordinator, item name, and contact number. Please note that item submission does not guarantee acceptance (see below for restrictions)
7. In order to encourage wider participation by members, please limit the participation of any member to two (2) items only.
8. All participants need to be current members of IATLH at the time of submission of the item by the coordinators. Coordinators are required to inquire about the current membership status of the participants.
9. While we do not recommend any one type of presentation, we will encourage items that showcase the diversity of India as well as have a strong entertainment appeal to a majority of members.
10. Glimpses of India is a family event, as such we encourage submissions that are acceptable to audiences of all age groups and ethnicities.EC reserves the right to request coordinators to modify an item, if found unacceptable.
11. If any conflict arises regarding an item submission and selection, the order in which item is received by EC (see item 2 about how to submit) will determine the final selection. Items sent to any other email id or conveyed by phone will not be accepted.
12. The Exec Committee (EC) will work diligently to accept items that are submitted and place them in a sequence (children's program will be earlier) based on guidelines set above. However, decisions taken by the EC regarding program items will be final and we request that everyone abide by them.
13. All participant families MUST have a current (i.e. 2011) IATLH membership. Non-members can become members by paying membership online (see links above). Coordinators are responsible for making sure that everyone who participates has paid the membership dues.
14. AS ALWAYS ADMISSION IS FREE and there is plenty of room in the auditorium so please feel free to invite your friends and families to the show.
15. We request that everyone maintain silence and stay in their seats during the performance. Use the item set-up time to move about and please stay clear of aisles and walkways.
16. India Association once again requests your participation to make this event a success. We are encouraging coordinators and/or volunteers to help us with all aspects of event planning, so please do email the executive committee (vicepresident.iatlh@gmail.com) if you are wiling to spend some time 'behind the scenes' helping us in any of the following areas:
- Stage and Program
- Logistics
- Refreshments, etc.,
17. Please remember that the program WILL START at 4:30 PM SHARP. Since the program is going to be long, IATLH has arranged for sale of pre-packed snacks during the intermission as follows:

19. In order to be included in 2011 member directory we need to have your membership payment received by Friday, October 14, 2011. This allows us to print the directory in a timely manner.
20. Coordinators should register items on their personal name. No registration using business name.
21. TWO "Great View" seats will be reserved for every "Individual Gold" sponsors with a donation of $100/- or more. If you wish to be a donor, please contact any IATLH executive committee members:
