Family and Friends,
I'm announcing this month's event with some mixed emotions. This will be the last Fourth Friday event for one of the charter members of the Fourth Friday Queering Committee, Geoffrey. He will be relocating to Virginesseetucky in November, so come out and wish him well as he moves on to what will hopefully be good opportunities and green pastures (literally and figuratively).
Thanks to Tiffany's hard work, we have landed a wonderful venue for such a farewell bash. This month we're meeting in the Fan at:
BOGART'S!
Bogart's in the Fan offers a casual atmosphere, good food, and fine music that has made it a Richmond tradition for nearly 40 years. They have off-street parking behind the restaurant, a huge patio, and a menu to fit any appetite. We have also been granted permission to park in the condo parking lot around the corner on Granby Street, but pay attention to the signs: there are spots designated for tenants only!
Come early and take advantage of their happy hour specials before 7:30PM:
- $5.00 Miller Lite and Yuengling pitchers,
- $2.00 rail drinks, and
- $3.00 draft beers (12 on tap)
They will also be providing an 80's cover band for our entertainment starting between 9:30 and 10:00PM, so come early, stay late, and have a good time!
Please make every attempt to respond by the end of day on Wednesday, October 21st to ensure good service and proper stocking and staffing.
For those of you not familiar with this monthly recurring event, it is designed as an opportunity for members and friends of the Richmond GLBT Community to get together on the fourth Friday of the month, relax, have a few drinks, catch up with old friends, make new ones, and grab a bite to eat.
Please extend this invitation to anybody you know who might be interested but is not included on this list by utilizing the 'Invite More People' link on this page. Feel free to email me at cruise-director@sillyqueer.com with any questions, comments, or recommendations you may have.
For more information regarding the goingson within the Richmond GLBT Community, please check out the site www.gayrva.com and the GLBT Events Calendar at sites.google.com/site/richmondglbtcalend ar/. You can find fun stuff to do, great ways to support the local GLBT Community, and submit events for publicity within the Community at those sites.
I hope everyone is able to join us. If not this month, then in months to come!
