Guest Speaker: Naeem Raza
Topic: Asset Management Systems.
A non-technical presentation of all of the technologies that are used to make up an asset management system, from databases, to application servers, to Software-as-a-Service, to web applications, to browser technologies. Also operating systems, and how that affects things … and then we will walk through all of the different mobile technologies and styles of integration (WIFI, batch, real-time) and how and what RFID is (active vs. passive, etc.). This presentation is for the benefit of the non-technical people who can get an education on the names and usages of all these new technologies we’re hearing about and how to effectively communicate with the IT folks.
