I am Co-Chair for the annual fundraiser for
Us Helping Us, People into Living, Inc., a DC nonprofit community-based AIDS organization. Sadly, the District of Columbia has the highest HIV/AIDS infection rate per capita in the nation. Since 1988, Us Helping Us has been in the forefront of fighting the AIDs epidemic in the Black community, especially among gay/bisexual men, and supporting those who are infected.
The fundraiser – A Passion For Living – will be held on Saturday, November 14th, at the Penthouse of SunTrust Bank, 1445 New York Avenue, NW ( 6-9 pm). Awards will be given to individuals and organizations to honor their outstanding work in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
