American Federation of Musicians Local 6 members (please, local 6 members only!) and their families are invited to a picnic and barbecue on September 5, 2010 from 2-6pm at the "Pines" picnic site of the San Pablo Reservoir.
Directions to San Pablo Recreation Area. There is a $6.50 per car parking fee.
RSVP!
Please respond so we have at least a rough idea of how many people will be eating and drinking. Showing up last minute without RSVPing is fine, but the more people do that, the more people who will end up starving or thirsty or having to eat without a fork, etc.--or worse, the more leftovers we'll have to deal with afterwards.
What we're providing:
- hamburgers
- Boca burgers
- hot dogs
- buns
- napkins, plates, plastic utensils
- keg beer for a $5 cup fee (refillable, just buy your cup once)
Our picnic site has:
- grills
- picnic tables
- restrooms
- water fountains
- beautiful lakeside views
What you should bring: - a potluck side dish to share
- any beverages you want besides beer & water
- $5 for your beer keg cup
- money to buy raffle tickets
- fun things for group activities—badminton, croquet, bocce, horseshoes, volleyball, tarot cards, juggling toys, face-painting supplies,… ?!
RAFFLE!!! To help cover our park reservation, food, and beverage costs, we will be selling raffle tickets for $5 at the event. What will happen with the money raised in the raffle?
- we will first cover our location, food, supplies, and other costs
- next, we will set aside any extra up to the amount of this year's budget as seed money for next year's picnic
- if we raise more than that, we will seek union members' input about what to do with it (e.g. scholarship donation, TEMPO contribution, larger budget for next year, etc.)
