The finale to the BRRC trail runs for the year wil be on Saturday September 19 at 8:00 AM in the Hereford Area of Gunpowder State Park off of Bunker Hill Rd

This event will feature a 50K Fat Ass run - no race fee and racers carry their own support. The course will pass the start several times so you can "freshen up" there, too. Other runners will have the option to do shorter trail races of 10.5 and 21 miles

You can try the Google directions by using xrl.us/BunkerHillTrailParking or you can follow the club directions at brrc.com/brrc2004/trailracedirections.html.

Please see the message below from the Race Director. Email questions to ccucuzzella@blakefield.loyola.edu

Some reminders

  • Race is free but there is a suggested five dollar donation that will go directly to the park.
  • Please bring one gallon of water for the communal water stops. Bring your own gels, etc. We might have some but no guarantee. There will be water at start/finish and somewhere else along the course. You will also run right by your car passing the start/finish if you wish to stash supplies there.
  • Course is three 10 mile loops with about 1,000 ft of climbing per loop. There are a couple extended flat sections however. Course is 90% trails, primarily single-track.
  • There is an 8 hour time limit, as race organizers would like to be home for dinner.
  • Registration begins at 7:15 on race morning.
  • Restrooms are available about 1/4 mile from the start.
  • Also dealing with this event, we could use a few more volunteers. You could run one or two loops of race and help afterwards. Basically we need some help later in the day at the finish area or water stops. WE could use any help between 8 and 4 with a greater need for later in the day.
  • Tell any trail runner friends about the event, the more, the merrier.
Happy trails,

Chris
