Very cool perspective Cecilia. I like the depth and thought provoking qualities of this movie. Glad you were provoked to think as well! :)

We really liked the movie. It raised awareness about all kinds of issues; Look out, kids, because here comes Mom with another lecture about how good we have it and what an easy life they have here. The thing that stayed with me, from the end of the movie right through into today, was that he had difficulty communicating thru a common language, so he chose to communicate thru ART. I got the point, that the dragon sculpture gift, and even the paper mache rabbit, could speak volumes for him, even better than words. To notice her enough, to listen to her, to 'pay attention' to her, to get to know her, made these small gifts really big gestures. Art is a universal language we can all understand, and so is kindness! Cecilia Bartlett

"If you think you know Steve Barron from his music videos ("Billie Jean," "Money for Nothing," "Take on Me"), think again. The director best known for his seminal work on MTV in the early 1980's (not to mention the glitzy 1984 feature Electric Dreams) brings an entirely new aesthetic to bear on Choking Man, an intense blend of psychological drama and magical realism that speaks eloquently of the contemporary immigrant experience in America." Tribeca Film Festival 2006

On this day in the early evening the Scouts and accompanying family will lay flags by the tombstones of veterans and we have special flag ceremony and other dedications are made...very moving, special tribute to those who have served our country with honor and to those who continue to serve our country acknowledgments are made too......
