The Summer has finally arrived, my friends - and Rabbi Magat and Cantor Simmerly are preparing for a community-wide Jewish event that is perfect for you and your family - and a great opportunity for mitzvah as well! :)
Brotherhood has taken a leadership role in organizing this massive effort - Jewish Appreciation Night at the San Jose Giants, with support from Jewish shuls all over the Bay Area! :) The Giants won the first half of the season, and at this special game, Rabbi is throwing out the first pitch, Cantor Meeka is singing the National Anthem and we have the entire Jewish community in attendance - Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, Chabad and more!
This family-friendly event includes between-inning Jewish-themed games, kosher meal packs (homemade Pastrami sandwiches on homemade rye with a homemade pickle, plus chips and a drink for only $10!) and more. A Shofar blast will precede the game, and this is a rare opportunity to just hang out with the local community and have a great evening out - for only $5 a person! :)
Yes, that's right - $5 each, regularly $10. Brotherhood has 550 tickets available to sell, and we want to see you there! Don't like baseball? No problem - you can donate your tickets to Chai House, Jewish Family Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters or The Packard Children's Hospital. Your $20 tax-write-off donation can enable a needy family of 4 or our veterans of life, sick kids and more to attend a game that would normally be $40!
You can purchase tickets online at www.jewishgiants.com or from the front office (or your nearest friendly Brotherhood member!).
Please do try and come, a great time will be had by all and it will do wonders for our community spirit (not to mention Brotherhood's bank account) if you RSVP in force. :) Plus, you can cheer on our clergy as we rock the stadium and have a great time at an historic ballpark (team details at www.sjgiants.com )! :)
Looking forward to seeing you all there - Jonathan and the whole Brotherhood team! :)
