Join Ed Thereault and Joe Shaskus for a trip to an old fashioned country fair, followed by a classic Labor Day Picnic a their home in East Haddam. So grab your bear and your trucker hat, jump in the old jalopy and head for the country!
The Haddam Neck Fair is a great, little, country fair, complete with livestock judging, produce, flower and baking contests and lots of country eye candy! Of course there is a midway and the local firemen will be cooking up their famous sausages again! (yum, fireman sausage!) This year the fair will be celebrating 100 years of continuous operation
Entertainment – Live music, horse and cattle pulling, tractor pulling, exhibits, vendors, rides, and games plus:Eye Candy Galore – Daddy bears, farm boys, blue collar dudes, working class stiffs, bikers, truckers, carnies, bubbas, bearded gents, and more. Ask Jeremy or Uncle Bill about their trip to the fair last year. Fair Food! – the fair will be filled with vendors offering fried dough, fritters, deep fried everything, chowder, grilled chickens and beer. (BEER!)
Be a Blue Ribbon Bear Any and all gardeners, bakers, jelly makers or floral arrangers should plan on entering the competitions at the fair. Info about how to enter will be posted as available. Those entering the competition will need to arrive early to submit their entries.

Meet at the fair at 11:00am and spend the day at the fair. (Admission fee)

Return to Ed and Joe’s House for a Country Pot Luck Supper
Ed and Joe will provide burgers and dogs, feel free to bring other items for the grill
Bring your best classic country food to share.

A-H please bring appetizers or snacks to share
I-S please bring side dishes to share
T- Z please bring desserts to share
Also plan on bringing: A chair, or blanket, sunscreen, lawn games, etc.
This is a BYOB event – please drink responsibly.
If your food needs to be chilled, please have it at the house before 11am and for those that do not need it, if after 11am, it can be left on the sun porch, there is no limit to how many folks can come to this, its a members event.
