For any building , anything, such as flashing , you do not see plays an important role for the building performance.

Understand how longevity, puncture resistance, tensile strength, ease of installation and compatibility are "Critical to Quality" properties of all flashing materials. Said another way, if your flashing outlives the building, survives installation without damage, goes in correctly and gets along with all of its neighbors, then, life is good.
