I set up invites, sent out to group e-mail, now no one can rsvp. Add my e-mail to guest list, I still can't rsvp to event, it says you must be invited by the host to access this event. I set it up I see my name on the guest list when I log in but I can't rsvp from the link in the e-mail. Sat 3/7/09

Each RSVP link sent for a private event is keyed to that guest's email address.

If you invite yourself and then forward your private invitation link to a group, when each member of the group clicks the link, the system will recognize the link as belonging to you and ask them to log in, since you are a registered member.

When you invite a non-member to a private event, the link contained in the invitation email contains a code that identifies them as a non-member, and therefore does not ask them to log in.

The way to get around this is to generate a generic private event URL for your event. You can find this feature in the Host Options under 'Private Event URL'. A Private Event URL can be shared with a group and anyone clicking it will be able to RSVP without logging in.

Larry, is there a way to have the Private Event URL be the link that is used when the invitee clicks on 'View Guest List and RSVP'? My group uses a bulk e-mail list and everyone who receives the invite through the that list will need to access the Private Event URL to RSVP.

Having to point them to a separate link is not an efficient solution. We have used eVite in the past, and dealing with responses for members of a bulk e-mail list is fairly simple, and does not require a different link than the one in the invitation e-mail... of course, everything else in eVite is brain dead, so Socializr is way ahead in the end.

Any suggestions for making responses from members of a bulk e-mail list easier for the responder?

I'm afraid I don't really understand the original post here, but Kevin, if you want to invite people via a group email list instead of inviting individual people via their email addresses, just send an email yourself to the email list with the Private Event URL. That should do the trick. Since most email lists block messages from non-members, Socializr probably wouldn't be able to send to the list anyway, so again you can send an email to the list with your Private Event URL.
