When I view an invitation to a private event through the special private event URL (it may happen with other kinds of events as well, I don't know), and I do this from a 'pristine' browser that does not have any Socializr cookies set yet, the guest list does not show up. Instead, a message appears saying 'The Guest List is not available at this time. Please enable Cookies in your browser.'
Cookies are enabled in the browser. I've been able to reproduce this behavior on Windows XP using Firefox 3.0 and IE8. A workaround is to reload the page in the browser, this makes the guest list show up. I assume the problem is related to the fact that no Socializr cookie is set yet the very first time someone visits the invitation (since they have not visited the Socializr site before); upon reload it is available. This is not a meaningless issue. Most people I invite to events have never heard of Socializr and never been to the site before. So now the first impression they get is 'Doesn't work right, fails to show the guest list. Your event and Socializr suck.' Great. Hope this can be fixed soon. Bet it would help with promoting the site to first-time visitors... Thanks, Uli |

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Uli. Certain elements of the page are conditionally rendered based on the presence of cookies, but the issue you described is a bug related to that functionality.
A fix is in the works and will be applied to the site ASAP. |
