Hi Jacob,

We are happy to investigate any situation in which you think your guests are not receiving their invitations, if you give us more information.

Most of the time, when hosts think that their guests didn't receive an invitation, it is usually due to the guest actually getting it but just not remembering or responding, or sometimes the use of an invalid or bouncing email address. I suggest you check the Response Tracker and Event Statistics pages for your events. I see that your most recent event, for example, had a 92% response rate, which is very high. So it sure seems like your recipients are indeed getting their invitations. Again, happy to investigate any supposed issues if you give us more info.

I'll jump on this thread, since it might be related. I just set up my very first Socializr Invite--hoping that it'll be a better system than Evite, and that my friends will all start to prefer it.

However, I'm off to a very rocky start. It seems that most of the invites sent to my friends ended up in their spam folders. (Confirmed so far that Gmail flitered it...not sure about other services yet).

Any way you guys can tweak your Invite emails to help avoid this?

Hi Andrew, we successfully deliver thousands of invites to Gmail, but are happy to investigate any issues you are having. Can you please provide more details, including the exact number of guests you have confirmed received your invite in a spam folder within Gmail. Thu 5/21/09

Of the 15 or so invitees (total), I spoke with 5 today who use gmail (or Google Apps for your Domain), and all of them found the invite in their spam folder.

Another 4 gmail-using invitees have not yet opened the email, but I haven't spoken with them to confirm if the email made it to their inbox or their spam folder... so not sure about those.

Not sure if that helps...What other info do you need?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Jonathan,

Funny, I just sent a message to all my guests (through Socializr).. figured it was worth a second try to send a message out, in case others had their original invite trapped in spam folders.

I included myself (the 'Yes' responder) in the email. That message went straight into my spam folder as well (I use google apps for domains).

For whatever reason, messages from Socializr are pretty clearly tripping Google's Spam Filter... maybe they changed something recently?

Thanks,
Andrew

I just re-invited a guest twice in the past two days, and neither time did he receive the invite email. Nor did it even go into his spam folder--it just didn't arrive at all--like it wasn't even sent. He's got an @gmail.com address.

The first time I reinvited him, I just allowed the system to reinvite guests. This morning I actually removed him from the guest list, and then invited him again. Neither worked.

I also tried using a private URL for the party, and personally emailing him that link. When he tried to RSVP using that, it said he was already invited and wouldn't let him use that link to reply. (His email to me said 'When I click on the link and say yes it tells me that I am already in the system?')

Help!

I am also having a similar issue. Less than a third of the invites from my previous event were opened, and several people complained that they never got the email. I just created a new event last night and tried to invite myself (GMail), but I've yet to receive a message, even in my spam folder. Wed 8/19/09

It's a shame that Socializr can't seem to figure this out, or even respond to my most recent posts in this forum.

This is a dealbreaker, obviously, since this entire website is predicated on sending email invitations to people. If they don't receive them reliably, there's absolutely no point in using this service.

Sadly, it's back to Evite for me...

I've successfully received email invites to a couple events from Pingg. I haven't tried them personally, but, if the Socializr issues remain unresolved, they will be my next stop before reconsidering Evite. Wed 8/19/09
