If you RSVP to a party when you don't have an account or aren't logged in and you add a comment but neglect to enter both your first and last name, when you click 'RSVP' the page is refreshed *** Without the comment ***. So you get an error, 'please enter last name' but your comment is gone forever and has to be retyped.
I was testing out the RSVP functionality to see if it's improved since the last time I've used Socializer. There are so many things I like about socializer but requiring people to enter their names to RSVP is a dealbreaker. I'm using Evite for my next party, even though they don't have your cool MP3 and flash add ins, because it's easier for my guests to RSVP. On Evite, you can RSVP and leave a comment w/out entering your name and address. I'll try you guys again this summer :( |

Thanks for reporting this JulieBridgette- the comment disappearing problem was fixed the day after you reported it. If either of the name fields are left blank, the page will be refreshed with the entered comment preserved.
Regarding entering first and last names- we're still sorting this one out. Some hosts have told us that they find it much easier to see who's coming when they have names to look at rather than email addresses- you might not remember your friend's email address but you'll certainly remember their name. We do want to make it as easy as possible to RSVP though, so we may make these fields optional at some point, or let the host decide if they should be required. Cheers, Larry |
