Hi Socializr Team,

I've used Socializr for a while to organize DC Media Makers meetups - it's been great; in the past weeks, this recent meetup invitation has been assaulted by spam RSVPs, preventing real people from submitting their confirmed response to attend. I've deleted them twice (over 50 false submissions).

Can you assist?

I'm glad to help in anyway. Thx for a quick reply.

Yikes, that's not pretty! My organization used a 'forum' service that just gave up the business rather than fighting link spam in comments.

The operation would submit a ton of links in our comments in the middle of the night (when we no one was awake to delete the comment). Presumably they would tell the major search engines to index our site, and pump up their rank because they were linked from a reputable website like ours.

I list public events with comments turned on. Maybe an option to limit comments to those in the address book or that the organizer invited would be possible. Otherwise, I suspect this could be a tough one. Hope it works out!

Hi Jill, looks like your event is public and was hit by spammers from out of the country. I will fix this soon, and look into preventing it from happenning again. Sat 8/29/09
