What is the best way to handle this situation? For example, you want to invite Bobby and Suzy, who are married. You send an invitation to both of them, so they both get the information. However, typically what I have noticed is that Bobby and Suzy will talk about the event, and then one of them, perhaps Suzy in this example, will respond that they are attending +1 and add a comment such as 'we will be there!'.

As long as Bobby doesn't also respond to the invitation, the guest count will still be accurate. However, if I want to send information, such as what to bring, etc. to the guests who ARE coming, Bobby won't get the message because he didn't RSVP as yes, but Suzy will. I realize Suzy can relay the message but it would be nice if Bobby would get the info as well.

Is there a way I can handle this better when sending out invitations? Or is there some sort of an improvement that could be made to socializr that would help with this?

So your concern is that you invite both of them via their seperate email addresses, one of them responds +1 to RSVP for both of them, and the subsequently the other one might RSVP too? Wed 10/7/09

Exactly. OR, that only one of them RSVPs (for both of them, using +1), which accurately reflects the count, but then when I send an e-mail out to the guests that are attending, the one that did not respond will not get that e-mail, even though he or she is attending. Wed 10/7/09

Well it's hard to control what people do, and prevent people from double-RSVPing in this way, but you could only invite one of the couple via email, or you could not allow people to RSVP +1 and ask them to all reply individually. Wed 10/7/09
