I have an organization with almost 800 addresses in its Address Book. I will be pushing the active readers to establish Socializr profiles and become either a friend or a fan of our organization. Among other benefits, I believe this should cut down on spam complaints, large numbers of no responses, etc.
I am unable to find help about the distinction between a fan and a friend, but believe our events will show up on the 'Home' page of both. The advantage to everyone being a friend is I can email them an invitation when I set up the event. A slight disadvantage is I will see every cat birthday party, bris, cocktail hour, etc. organized by hundreds of people on my 'Home' page. If people become a fan, our 'Home' page will not be flooded with events as they use Socializr more. However, a HUGE DISADVANTAGE would be fans cannot be emailed an invitation to an event. It would not work to expect regular logins or even a RSS usage of most of these people. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Can I email fans, or can I suppress the events of friends? Thanks! Karl |

Starting to force everyone to be my friend... Still would be nice to know the difference between friends and fans on Socializr.
Hope quietness from Socializr staff in Help Forums means big things are coming, not going away... Karl |
