There is a problem when a person is explicitly invited to a private event, but uses the generic private event URL to RSVP, instead of the link from their email. When they type in the email address that the explicit invite was sent to, then the system will not let them RSVP that way, but insists on the person using the link from the invite email.
This is a usability problem for several reasons, in particular for 'normal' people (non-geeks, unlike Socializr developers and I), which are the people coming to my monthly events: 1. People delete emails. Normal people cannot find them anymore and have only one email address. So they are prevented from RSVPing at this point. 2. Normal people do not understand what Socializr is asking them. 3. If I explicitly invite someone, I expect the system to not make it more difficult for them to RSVP through the generic private URL. I hope this can be fixed soon. As I need to announce my events to a larger (yet closed) group via a private URL, I will be unable to send personal invitations until this is resolved. Thanks, Uli |
