My friends and I have a regular poker game that rotates among our houses. We'd like to use the same email list for each invite. I know this can be done by exporting the list from the last invite and emailing it to the next guy. But this is a pain in the butt, especially if the last guy goes out of town or just forgets to send the list forward.
I figured that creating an Organization might solve my problem... but I couldn't add people to it, and more importantly, I didn't see any way to automatically invite everybody who is a member of the Organization to an event. Also, the event I created for the Organization doesn't show up on the Organization's event list, probably because it's a private event. I guess I really just don't understand the purpose of the Organizations function. An alternative way to solve my problem would be to create shared lists in my Address Book that can be used and modified by other designated users. This way, we would all have access to the most up-to-date list when the next event occurs. I guess there would need to be some notification feature to let the other owners of the list know when someone is deleted, so one person can't purge the list without the others' knowledge. I think a lot of groups that rotating hosting duties would benefit from some kind of user-friendly feature for guest list sharing. Jason |
