Being a Bear is a lot easier than defining a 'Bear'....and a lot more fun! Being a Bear is a state of mind. If you feel like a bear, then you probably are a Bear.
Northeast Ursamen is a Bear organization whose roughly 100 members' varied backgrounds, interests, and occupations afford the opportunity for any Bear to expand his social circle within the gay community. Our members come from throughout New England and New York, with the majority of the members living in Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
Our mission statement: The Northeast Ursamen, Inc. is a non-political, gay fraternal organization that exists to provide bears and their admirers with opportunities to meet and enjoy time together in a variety of safe and fun social environments.
The Northeast Ursamen offers an assorted array of events, ranging from small trips and intimate gatherings to large events and parties. Included are restaurant trips, amusement park forays, bar nights, weekend getaways, river tubing, holiday shopping trips, and movie nights.
Quarterly newsletters, monthly mailers and periodic member lists keep you in touch with members and the latest planned events.
All members are encouraged to plan or help produce more new and different events.
With so many Bears, and so many events, you'll have the opportunity to make the Northeast Ursamen into whatever YOU want it to be.
