"promoting the development of a truly multicultural community...We are the catalysts for change and integration in our community. We serve a the cultural broker, the advocate, the mentor, and the teacher for those who have come here to make a home in the Berkshires, a sanctuary where we can live together peacefully free of any racial or ethnic discrimination. Local agencies, institutions, municipal services and individuals have grown to trust BRIDGE and look to us for quality assistance bridging the cultural service gap in our community. We provide direct service of translation, interpretation, cultural brokering and advocacy wherever a cultural service gap may arise. We provide Cultural Competency Trainings. Previous clients have been police departments, local hospital, schools, hotline trainees, etc. Multicultural Presentations: monthly community events highlighting a multicultural community by choosing a group centering a meal and presentations in the forms of art, lecture and conversations. BRIDGE is also facilitating a county wide dialogue on Cultural Competency issues along with the US Department of Justice. 15 key community leaders have joined BRIDGE on the steering committee to work on issues of inclusion, race, competency and accessibility, and tolerance for our Berkshire community.
